KNI Nutrition Services

We know kidney disease comes with overwhelming choices and conflicting information about protein, potassium, blood pressure control and more! Research shows 80% of people with kidney disease want to talk with a dietitian, but many don't know where to begin.

Much of the first session will be spent getting to know you and your health status, eating habits and nutrition needs/concerns. We'll discuss what you hope to achieve through nutrition therapy and together come up with personalized goals, as well as discuss our recommendations for getting you to them. Depending on what you need and how much time we have, we may provide meal planning strategies, food suggestions, nutrition education, supplement and/or lab testing recommendations. Lastly, we'll make a plan for follow-up care.

The Initial Assessment & Nutrition Strategy Plan
The initial assessment and nutrition strategy plan is the first—and most important—step in working together.  This session is required for any further services because it gives you a clear, personalized plan for how we’ll work together to get results.

Your first session includes an in-depth review of your diet, labs, medications, and health history. From there, we’ll create a plan that highlights the areas where nutrition can make the biggest impact for your kidneys and overall health.

Payment plans available. HSA/FSA Eligible Expense.

Premium Coaching Packages

Premium Coaching Packages are for patients to implement their strategy plan from the initial assesment. The start-stop nature of single clinic visits makes consistent nutrition progress difficult for most patient, as you're left waiting for your next appointment to adjust your plan or get answers to your important questions.  Our package approach provides continuous guidance and tools, such as meal planning, access to multiple resources, and messaging with your dietitian to make quick adjustments so you can get results as quickly as possible without feeling confused or overwhelmed.  This holistic approach offers more value and better results than paying for individual visits.

Payment plans available. HSA/FSA Eligible Expense.

What Our Patients Say

I had Jessica's counseling for 6 weeks and went from stage 4 to stage 3 CKD. She was wonderfully enthusiastic! She took a comprehensive history, complete with lab results. Told me what supplements to take & what to eat less of. She gave me menu ideas & specific recipes. She was encouraging & positive the whole time. Made becoming vegan so much easier. We were able to reverse my CKD back to stage 3!!! JP W.

"Also, I wanted to share my latest labs - please see attached. All looking good including the bicarbonate, which is back in normal (only just but I'll take it!). My eGFR is 58, which as you will see from my eGFR history, also attached, is my highest reading since Sept 2021, when it was 59. And since starting Keto on 13 Jan this year, my eGFR has steadily climbed from a starting point of 41 - long may that continue! Needless to say, I am thrilled with the result, and I am feeling really positive about Keto and eternally grateful for your help and guidance. I now see this as a lifestyle and am committed to following it for the long term. " - Alison C

"Since, October my proteinuria which had been hovering in the 250-350 range was now 35 and my GFR in the 70's. I was ecstatic but that was nothing compared to today! My lab draw for December I did on Saturday and then I had an appointment with my nephrologist today. My GFR is 93 and my proteinuria (and I quote) "is better than it has ever been" at 35. She asked me more about what I'd been doing and how I'd found this test (MRT) Then the best part - she said that she couldn't argue with the evidence that a food allergy caused an immune response that might have been the cause of my nephritis.

I wanted to thank you again for the part you played in this! I tell everyone who will listen that this was the best thing I did since my diagnosis and if anyone is ever interested in doing it for themselves I will definitely send them your way.

Thank you again for this fantastic gift of health.” T.L.

"I worked with my dietitian for 6 weeks and went from stage 4 to stage 3 CKD. She was wonderfully enthusiastic! She took a comprehensive history, complete with lab results. Told me what supplements to take & what to eat less of. She gave me menu ideas & specific recipes. She was encouraging & positive the whole time. We were able to reverse my CKD back to stage 3!!!"

"Jess was able to affirm that what I was doing on my own was basically correct and offer some creative alternatives to make it better. Whether you are a new CKD'er or a seasoned kidney patient in a quandary about what you can actually eat, Jess can provide a diet tune-up or point you in the right direction to get started to help you help yourself. Most CKD patients are told to see a renal dietitian and Jess is a good one!" L.R. Bryan, TX
