Spring Flavors- April Bulletin Board for Dialysis Unit

    bulletin board, spring bulletin board, dialysis, renal dietCutting back on sodium for patients can be disappointing.  I try to spend some time finding simple spices they can try with foods they already eat.  This board highlights some spices that patients can pair with their food to cut back on sodium.  The board I put this one on was smaller than my typical monthly board so I couldn’t include everything.  You could also do other flavorful pairings such as cabbage and caraway, broccoli and red pepper or garlic, and or carrots with ginger.   Monthly education with this board could include talking about fresh spring produce, spices and spice blends for dialysis (Mrs. Dash, McCormick Perfect Pinch), and cutting back on sodium.
