This pictorial and easy to follow handout shows step-by-step directions on how to reduce potassium in potatoes through double-boiling.
This handout provides education on other starchy veggies that can use the same technique for potassium reduction that is used to reduce potassium in potatoes. This is the perfect tool to provide to dialysis patients or other patients with CKD who loves cooking and need to reduce potassium content of food.
No need to recreate the wheel! Save time by downloading this handout to reduce potassium in potatoes from the Renal Education Library or by going to RD2RD.com.

I am a CKD patient having Creatinine level to 2.9. My potassium level is on border line for which I take K – Bind powder.
My question is whether I can take potatoes, mushrooms and spinach after boiling it once. Boiling twice may not always be practical.
An early reply will be highly appreciated.
Thanks and regards.
