Molasses- a sweetener that’s also a great source of Iron
We love adding blackstrap molasses because it is a rich source of Iron. It’s also a great sweetener without adding too much sugar. Worried about the potassium content of blackstrap molasses? A little goes a long way so it’s easy not to overdo! This recipe only contains ~150 mg of Potassium per serving. Feel free to tailor this recipe to your liking by adding a touch of vanilla extract, maple syrup, or some additional spices such as cloves or nutmeg!
