The holiday season has begun for us all! This means a new board for the dialysis unit to hopefully bring some Christmas cheer.
This dialysis bulletin board, going with classic KidneyGrub style, is all about the livable, lovable CAN-HAVE choices for the renal diet. I grabbed some empty boxes from my house and the dialysis unit and wrapped them up to look like presents.
A couple tips from making this board:
1.If you decide to do a three dimensional board like I did, then make sure the boxes are empty. AND the thinner the boxes the better – think like cracker boxes, mini cereal boxes, etc… The “presents” can be tricky to hang. I used a lot of tape. Alternatively, just cut squares of wrapping paper and tape up on the board with bows.
2. I went to the dollar store and nabbed bows, a garland and used some cheap ornaments I had at home. I wanted to make a Christmas tree and put the presents under it, but that didn’t work this time.
3. I included a couple recipes for patients. There are loads of great recipes on the internet, but I really liked these from Sanofi. This was also a good post from KidneyHealth.ca.
I have a really good ginger cookie recipe here that is my personal favorite to give!
