Grow a "Gratitude Mindset" for even better patient outcomes!

Our latest patient education kit "Focusing on Gratitude" is live in the Renal Education Library right now! So often, our friends with kidney disease get caught up in the daily grind of managing their kidney diagnosis. But we know that patients do so much better with a positive gratitude mindset, so we're flipping the script this month to focus on the GOOD!

Of course, we know that one of the challenges is navigating the food-rich Holidays, so we are including a favorite Library resource, "Kidney-Friendly Thanksgiving: Feast Without Fear". After all, we want to look forward to holiday festivities!

Pair these nutrition tips with our "Gratitude ABCs" activity sheet. Challenge your patients to find a gratitude for each letter of the alphabet, and let me know what they come up with for "x"-- that's always an interesting one! Not only does this engage them in active positivity, but also gets those creative juices flowing!

And, of course, we've got some addition tips for cultivating that gratitude mindset with our "Gratitude Challenge" Bulletin Board download. This super-simple bulletin board template includes ideas for actively showing gratitude, keeping that positive mindset going! Encourage your patients to choose from ideas like:

  • Thanking a stranger for doing something well.
  • Write a "Thank You" letter to a friend or health care worker.
  • Go outside and find three things you enjoy about nature.

There are 10 ideas to choose from and you can follow-up with you patients to see how they're doing-- and even choose some yourself!
