The number of patients being referred to PD therapy is growing and is expected to continue to grow. Patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis have different nutritional needs than those on in center therapy. This course can help RD’s understand how PD therapy works and the unique nutritional needs of PD patients. By understanding these difference, patients will be more successful.
Deep dive into how PD works explained by a PD RN which will help clinicians understand how and why prescriptions differ from patient to patient.
Strengthen clinical knowledge about the unique nutritional needs for patients on PD and skills for troubleshooting typical nutritional concerns for patients.
By better understanding PD’s unique needs, dietitians will be better equipped to handle challenges to ensure that patients succeed on PD and STAY on PD (rather than failing and having to go back to hemodialysis)
